Session 3: The Inner Critic – When Survival Becomes Self-Sabotage

There’s a voice inside.
Sharp. Critical. Demanding.
Telling you you’re not enough, not lovable, not safe unless you prove yourself.

This is the inner critic β€” and it wasn’t born to hurt you.
It was born to protect you.

In Part 1, we explore the origin and function of this voice. How early pain, rejection, or emotional neglect can evolve into internalized self-attack. We trace its roots β€” not to punish it, but to understand.

In Part 2, we dive into the layers beneath: shame, guilt, and protective mechanisms. We see how the critic often steps in where tenderness was never met, and how it tries to control the chaos it once couldn’t bear.

In Part 3, we begin the work of transformation. Not silencing the critic, but turning toward it β€” with clarity and compassion. We practice befriending the part of us that learned to survive through self-sabotage… and teach it how to become an inner ally.

This session is about reclaiming your voice β€”
and rewriting the story you tell yourself about who you are.
